Furnace conversion

Switch from oil or gas to electricity. Complete conversion of your central heating system, code compliance and coordination with Hydro-Québec.

Why convert

Three good reasons to say goodbye to oil.

No more oil tank

An aging tank means a risk of leaks, odours and costly decontamination. The conversion removes it from your property and from your worries.

Simple, predictable heating

No oil deliveries to schedule, no fluctuating prices. Hydro-Québec rates are stable, and maintenance comes down to the filters.

Ready for the future

An electrically heated home works with a heat pump, dual-energy setups and financial assistance programs, and is easier to sell.

How it works

A complete conversion, not a makeshift job.

Converting a central furnace is more than swapping one appliance. The new electric system requires a dedicated circuit up to code, sometimes a panel upgrade, and ductwork adapted to the new unit's airflow.

We also handle the end of life of the old system: the oil tank removal is coordinated with a certified contractor, with a certificate of disposal, and the paperwork with Hydro-Québec is prepared for you.

What is included

to heating tests.

Frequently asked questions

Heating conversion: what people ask us.

Can I keep my old system as a backup?

It depends on the situation. We assess feasibility and compliance.

Would a heat pump be a better choice?

Often yes, for both heating and air conditioning. Converting a furnace remains worthwhile depending on the existing air distribution. We give you honest advice.

Do I have to replace my water heater at the same time?

Not necessarily, but it is often a good time to look at a more efficient water heater.

Are any subsidies available?

Programs like Hydro-Québec's LogisVert sometimes cover this type of conversion. We help you check your eligibility.

Is electric heating more expensive?

Hydro-Québec rates are stable and predictable. Several factors affect the cost. We give you an honest picture based on your home.

What happens to the oil tank?

We coordinate its removal by a certified contractor, with a certificate of disposal.
